27 APRIL 2020 BLOG 53 – Letters from Federica

Mother told me that when grandmother set her mind to something, persistent determination got her what she wanted, no matter how difficult. This mix of courage, conviction, and a little stubbornness is the lineage of women I hail from; for better or for worse.

I love you my darling Leo. You are the love of my life.

For you my love…my heart will always be yours.

My love will always embrace you.

       Gentle touch

Can you find me in the shadows?

I hide so well.

I run to hide.

The moon shines bright,

Casts a shadow over my grave.

My hand reaches for you.

The light above.

My feet stand still.

Frozen in fear.

Where did I go?

Where can I go?

I fear here, and

I fear there.

A veil of sorrow,

Creeps into my soul.

I fight to let go.

I fight to stay.

My mistakes made me.

My truth found me.

Find me, find me.

Where did I go?

Where can I go?

I fear here, and

I fear there.

The autumn sun

Casts a shadow over my grave.

With a tip of my finger,

I reach for it.

A gentle touch.

Enough.

Enough, a gentle touch.

All that was ever needed.

No more fear of here or there.

A gentle touch.

All that was ever needed.
