The Angels Owe Me

Suzanne Mondoux · 7 November 2020

Now the wind blows over my decaying body I take care to look at the world from a place I’ve never been before But I know it is where I belong However, too soon it seems, I can say the angels owe me Even though they stand by my side, always with me The angels owe me for the time gained and the time lost The angels owe me for the wisdom they imparted onto me The angels owe me for the glory of a good death Never shall I know differently going forward And then there may be no going forward from where I now see I lay here in my decay of self I wonder how I will transform myself into the new Into a world I know no more The angels owe me for taking me away from the evil of my existence The angels owe me for the love they showed me, never had I known Now I lay in pain, memories of a suffering soul
